INSECT POLLUTION
INSTALLATION
The story began with a troubling fact that people are unaware of the importance of oceans, as in them, we dispose more than 6.4 tons of waste per year, more than half of which is plastic - a non-degradable element.
Plastic cups in the installation represent the ocean. The concept is to be considered as provocative, as we take an ordinary object without any aesthetic value and upgrade it with sophisticated embroidery. The latter represents the riches of the ocean. And why insects as the motive of embroidery? It is a concept of ugly on ugly. On an entirely banal object, we add something that in the mind of the majority of people is considered to be ugly, repugnant - insects. They are a group of living creatures, that trigger feelings of uneasiness in many. Part of the installation are also the wings; they are part of the insect which makes it even more interesting and species. Wings are also of vital importance for the insect, as the ocean is for us.
